San HorHay

This past weekend we made another trip down to St. George with the Fam along with Jayson's two best friends, Dave and Aaron and their cute wives and kids.  It was kind of a trip to celebrate the awesome year Precision Asphalt Maintenance has had (btw his best friends are co-owners of the business in case you didn't know that).  We had so much fun hanging out and letting the kids play all day every day for the weekend.  We played tons of games all day and all night, went swimming, shopping and watched movies.  It was such a fun gettaway!

We went to dinner "on the business" at Samurai 21 which was way yummy.  Tepanyaki is one of my favs and this was just like it.  We had the funniest japanese man I have ever had in all my Tepanyaki experiences.  It was way fun!

The Brethren

Blasted Rain!

This past weekend we took a much anticipated trip to St. George. Once the month of October hits we like to head down to St.George as much as possible.  The weather isn't blasted hot anymore but the sun still shines! Well....not this weekend. haha We still had a way fun time hanging out with  my family and doing all the fun St. George things we like to do.  We didn't go down till Saturday night but stayed till Tuesday so we had plenty of time.  I love watching conference down there surrounded by my family.  I love listening to the leader's of our church! There were so many powerful messages that I loved.  Here are a few other things that we did:

Went to see Tarzan at the Tuachan...We had babysitters for Paislee but we figured they would cancel the show with all of the rain so we cancelled the babysitters. We were all expecting to get there and just get the money back for the tickets...But, the show still went on...For a little while at least

I'm so happy we brought Paislee, although the show started after her bed time and we thought she might be onery we were surprised when she sat completely still and didn't take her eyes off of the stage.  She LOVED it!  She kept pointing at all the monkey's and laughing.

They had to stop the show two times due to the down pour of rain.  Eventually they ended up cancelling the show which we were very sad about.  Luckily they refunded the tickets!

Hill & I had the biggest laugh attack because when they introduced the grown-up Tarzan in the show he came in and jumped off the rocks onto the stage.  The stage was so wet though that he slipped and fell right on his butt... It was SO funny!

We also went for walks (when it wasn't raining), ate lots of yummy food, spent alot of time relaxing and just spending some good quality family time.  It was a blast! Can't wait for our next trip!

Root Canal

I was freaking out a couple months ago when the dentist told me I needed a crown. "What! I brush 2 X a day and floss ever day! How could this be?!" Went to get the crown placed on Wednesday, turns out I needed a root canal as well. Left work early yesterday to make it to the Endodontist where my life would soon end.  I didn't think I would make it out of there alive (It is WAY worse getting dental work done when you know exactly what is going on inside your mouth) But, I made it! I am alive and surprisingly in no pain....

I always thought only old people got root canals and crowns. I'm 22.... Does this mean I am getting old? After seeing the $1600 bill I think Jayson and I may look into getting dental insurance...haha Probably should have had that before this all happened but oh well.. You win some, you lose some! Life goes on. I know things could be ALOT worse. I am just grateful to have teeth, even if they are weaker than most.  Jayson gets cavities easily, I get cavities easily...Poor Paislee... But the good news is.. I made it through my first root canal alive!

Grass Alas!!

I never knew how much went into getting a yard.  I've always thought it would be pretty simple and inexpensive.  Oh boy was I wrong!  It is such a PROCESS. I thought we could just move in, rake out the dirt and weeds in our yard, get some sprinklers, then grass and wham bam we'd be done! All summer long Jayson and I have procrastinated finishing our yard due to the lack of time.  We would just sit and dream of the day we could finally go out and hang outside in our yard. THE DAY IS HERE AT LAST! From weeding, to grading, to getting our pipes pulled, to getting the sprinklers installed, to curbing, then top soil, with a final grading and last but not least....GRASS! Oh boy I am so happy to have a yard.  Here are some pics:

We are so grateful for all the people that helped us lay sod.  We had so much help and it went way quick, except Jayson measured our yard wrong and we didn't have enough sod at first...So we had to call and order more and wait to finish like 2 days later. haha I love having a yard that Paislee can now run free in!  I used to let her run around in the back yard in the dirt because she loved it so now it is nice to let her run around and make it into the house and still be clean...

Oh, and to eat it too... This isn't the first time I have had to pull chunks of dirt out of Paislee's mouth from playing in the back yard...haha

 

Mmm.. Cotton Candy & Elephants!

Nothing beats the smell of Cotton Candy & Elephants! Another lovely tradition in our family is to go to the Circus every September.  My wonderful parents are so nice to buy us all tickets.  They are always good tickets too!  We all meet at Crown Burger for a little dinner with the fam and then walk to Energy Solutions for the amazing show.  My parents are so cute and buy the grandkids their very own circus toy which the girls loved!  I love spending time with my family and I look forward to the Circus every single year!  Thanks Mom & Dad!

It is crazy to me that I now have a little girl to take to the circus with us.  She loved every second of it (especially the elephants) It is by far more fun to have a little one to bring to enjoy all the fun craziness of the circus!  I can't wait for the years to come!

My Boss

I probably have the best boss on the planet.  He is seriously such a fun guy to work for.  He is not your typical "doctor".  I feel like he is more of a Dad to me than he is a boss.  He made going to work every single day (and making the long drive from Farmington to 3900 S. in pure traffic) alot easier.  I LOVE my job and I am so glad that he asked me to come once a week to help out at the office.  I don't even consider my job to be a job... It is somewhere I look forward to going and always have a blast when I am there.  I love what I do.  Working with patients, learning about their lives, seeing how the surgical procedures we do often times changes their lives for the better.  I love it!  I love assisting in the surgeries, taking care of the patients and working in the office.  What makes all this even THAT much better is I love all the girls I work with.  I have worked there for 3 1/2 years and have seen alot of girls come and go because of school, babies, moving etc. and I can honestly say I have loved every single one of them and am still close with all of them too.  I feel so blessed that I have a job. Period. And that the job I have is so fun to me that I don't even think of it as a job..

Dr. Egbert every so often plans fun little adventures for us girls in the office.  Last year (or maybe it was the year before) he flew us to Hollywood to see WICKED and spend the night.  Last month he flew us to Vegas where we had a blast!  We went to see The Phantom of the Opera which was amazing! We were on the 4th row, dead center! You could literally see every detail of the amazing show! (like when they would spit and stuff....haha)We ate at cheesecake factory and spent the night on the vegas strip. I can't believe how crazy people are there... We spent the following day laying out by the pool and just having fun with us girls.  It was so much fun!  I really do have the best boss ever!

Our week of fun!

This last week we had a week full of tons of fun!  On Wednesday we took Paislee to the park to feed the ducks and to play.  She was a little nervous when she first saw the ducks, but quickly warmed up to them.

After the park we went to my niece Kesli's softball game.  My father in law is the coach and they have an awesome team! 

Then Friday night me and all my girlfriends got together for Caroline and Whitney's birthday at Robintino's.  Nothing is more fun then sitting around and chatting (and eating of course) with my friends.  I love them all so much and love being able to see them. I wish we would have taken a picture, but we forgot :(

The following day we went to my little brother's football game and he played great! We then went somewhere we have been wanting to take Paislee FOREVER.  The ZOO!!! It was a blast!  We went with two of my best friends, Caroline and Marianne and their husbands and little girls.  We don't get together with the entire families nearly enough so it was fun to spend the day with them! Oh, and Pais loved the zoo!

Paislee thought the elephants were the coolest thing.  She sat and pointed the entire time we were there. 

Paislee's first trip to the Zoo was one I will never forget.  We had so much fun and I loved being able to spend time with my husband and some good friends.  After the zoo we went to eat at one of my fav's El Matador (which I was disappointed in... It had been awhile since I had been there last and my burrito I always get was like half the size! haha and they charged me for cheese for my salsa which they never used to do...bummer.. It was yummy though to say the least!)

We finished off the evening by putting Paislee to bed and cuddling up to watch "State of Play" while eating a giant Symphony bar. Mmmmm, talk about the perfect day!
