FIESTA!!

We celebrated Paislee's 1st birthday this past week with a big fiesta at my parents house.  All of our families, grandparents and close friends came to celebrate.  It turned out way fun!  We had a yummy dinner with pork tacos, beans, rice, fruit, chips and salsa and yummy salads.  It was so fun to have everyone close to us there to celebrate the birth of our sweet little Paislee.  She received so many wonderful gifts and had a blast playing with all of her little friends.  I was so involved in the party that I hardly took any pictures! :( My sister snapped a few shots for me but the pictures don't show too much.  We had a pinata hanging for the little kids, my parents goats tied up for the kids to play with, the pool open for anyone who wanted to swim and a slide Paislee got for her birthday out where the little kids played on it.  Here are just a few pictures from the partay!
Unfortunately Paislee had a fever and wasn't feeling too hot on her birthday...I felt so bad for her
This was the cupcake and pictures of Paislee display.  You can't really see the cupcakes so here is a picture.  They were way yummy if I do say so myself!

Jayson, Ty, Hill and I made this sign on Sunday for the party.  It was a fun Sunday activity!
Jayson liked having "his" Mexican flag hanging everywhere
Paislee didn't even hesitate to dig into her cake
Paiser was lucky and got two birthday parties since her birthday was on a Sunday.  My mom made a fun birthday cake for after our family dinner and my Grandma and Grandpa Wood came over.  We had practiced blowing out the candle and anytime she would see a candle she would automatically start to blow.  But, when she saw the fire on top of the candle it was a little scary for her so our practicing didn't really work...
Whats a birthday party without a frosting war?? I love how my husband is the child who always initiates immature things like this.. That's why I love him!

What Paislee is like at 12 months old............Very advanced if I do say so myself!
  • She weighs 22 lb 12 oz (74%)
  • She is 29 inches long (47%)
  • Her head is 19 inches!!!(99%) Paislee got the Adam head! haha
  • She started taking full steps at 11 months and was full on walking at 11 1/2 months
  • She will not crawl anymore, she LOVES walking
  • The forward facing carseat is now her favorite thing!
  • I can't believe how easy she is...STILL!
  • She no longer drinks bottles which I heard it can take awhile to wean babies off of and with Paislee I just stopped giving them to her and she did fine!
  • Her favorite foods are green beans, watermelon, tomatoes and grapes. (which is so funny because when I was pregnant I craved green beans and watermelon every day)
  • Paislee catches onto things really easily.  I feel like I don't even have to teach her things she just figures them out on her own.  She is very observant.  For instances, we were at Ty's football game and she saw the ref put his arms up when they scored a touch down and everyone around was yelling TOUCH DOWN!!!!  Next thing we knew, anytime anyone would say touch down she would put her arms in the air like the ref...Like 2 min later she was playing on the ground with the rocks whispering to herself "tuts don tuts don tuts don"
  • She is awesome at copying what you say without  you even repeating it or teaching it to her.  Some of her latest words are cracker, jesus, touch down, ya!, no, whats that!
  • Paislee continues to sleep awesome.  She wakes up between 7:15 and 7:45 every morning.
  • She takes 2-3 naps still which is such a blessing.  Each nap is from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours which gives me a nice break during the day I love it!
  • She knows Spanish really well, almost all of her tricks she does she knows in spanish too.  We ask her how big are you, her arms go up, we ask her how old she is, she puts 1 finger up, we ask her where is mommy or daddy or where is my nose/toes/eyes etc. and she can point to them.  I can now say all those things in Spanish too!! haha so hopefully I can learn with Pais how to speak Spanish as she grows up
  • She has had no problems switching to whole milk which I was worried about.  She likes the taste and does great drinking it!
  • When we pray as a family each night she will get on her knee's with us and fold her arms.  Occasionally she will look and see that our eyes are closed and heads are bowed so she will bow her head and close her eyes.  haha it's so fun watching her learn and catch onto things
I have felt so blessed to have Paislee as my daughter.  She really has been so fun and continues to get more fun every single day.  I couldn't have asked for a better girl!  I am so thankful that she is so healthy and continues to develop normally.  That is something you always worry about as a parent and I am grateful everything continues to go well in her little life.  I am so excited for what the future holds for her!

I can hardly believe my little girl is already 1!  I knew I would be one of those mom's who gets emotional over the smallest of things and that holds true...I have found myself just looking at Paislee or walking into the room to get her from her nap and I just start to cry.  My baby......isn't really a baby anymore.. She is getting so much more fun as she gets older and I love it! I just never want her to grow up comopletely.. I am so thankful for a beautiful, healthy and happy daughter.  It has been such a blessing in our home to have her in our family.  She truly has made me such a better person and I can't wait for all the many birthdays to come.  I love you so much Paislee!  Happy Birthday Gus Gus! Here is just a little poem I wrote along with some fun photos to go along with it!

The day you were born seems only moments away
But now you are becoming more grown up every day

The moment I first saw you it was love at first sight
You fit so perfectly in my chest while we cuddled each night

At every milestone thus far in your precious little life
I can't help but cry, you'll understand one day when you are a wife
You are no longer my baby anymore, you've grown up fast
Oh how I wish every passing moment would last

I sit here holding you in my arms in your dark and quite room
Your head on my shoulder knowing bedtime will come soon
That once small child on my chest so perfectly
I hold like a baby yet your feet dangle by my knees

The blanket that once swaddled you so warm and so tight
You hold close to your face too small to cover you through the night

My chubby guts, my gus gus, my monkey and my paiser pie
I love how you giggle when dad throws you in the air to fly

I love you from your big blue eyes to your button nose
All the way down to your chubby thighs and toes

I can hardly believe we have made it one year
All the fun and memories we have shared make my eyes tear

I know though your baby days have left we have much to look forward to
I hope as you grow you will always know how much mama loves you

Love Always,

Mom

I am so sad to say our annual trip to Fish Lake is over.  We look forward to this trip ALL year long and when it comes, it's the time of our lives! But when it goes....we have a whole year of anticipation till the next!  Here is our trip...I hope you enjoy!

Fishing on the boat! Every day from 9 to 1! We caught some of the biggest fish this year we ever have.
Our family friend we go down with every year caught the STATE RECORD Tiger Muskey (spear fishing)!!

The Carter Family (who we go with every year) They are not all there in this picture but we always pull our boat up to theirs while fishing.  We basically spend all of our time with this amazing family.  We love them!
The second we would get on the boat, Paislee would do this....ZONK! It was always nice letting her get a good nap so once she woke up she could have fun fishing with the Fam!
Every morning around 7 the boys would wake up and go spear fishing in all their snorkle gear.  I never wanted to go because swimming with Tiger Muskey's that big freaks me out! They had a blast!
Skeet Shooting Tournament

We slept in a tent with Paislee for the first time.  The first night was rough because she was FREEZING. The next day we bought her this lovely hat and she did AMAZING the rest of the nights.  We are so proud of our little camper!
Fourwheeling & Motorcycling.  Paislee Zonked the second we got on our fourwheeler.  We went on one of the prettiest rides I have ever been on in my entire life.  It was safe, relaxing, beautiful and just PERFECT.  The best place to take Paislee for her first four wheeler ride.

White trash anyone???
This year was by far my most favorite year at Fish Lake yet.  I loved having Paislee there to share all the new experiences with.  She made it so much more fun!

Thank you so much Mom & Dad for always making Fish Lake such a good time.  They put so much work into getting everything ready, preparing meals and making sure we all have a blast while we are there.  You really make Fish Lake such a fun experience!  We already can't wait for next year!!!!
P.S. We really missed Rachael and Kambree this year! Hopefully they can come next year!
P.P.S. You would think based off these pictures I never changed my daughters outfit...haha It just happened to be we took the majority of the pictures that day, I swear I don't make my child wear the same clothes over and over again on camping trips... haha
