I am just over 21 weeks and I can't believe I am already half way there! Holy smokers! It feels good to be out of the rough and into the "feeling normal" stage. Boy this little sister was not near as easy on me first trimester as Paislee was (does this mean we are in for a doosey with this chica?) Since I failed to blog about any of the pregnancy fun, here is a re-hash
First Trimester:Some things I NEVER experienced when pregnant with Paislee but have experienced full force this time around..
1. Nausea! Never felt nauseous once with Paislee!
2. CANNOT handle meat or the smell thereof... I seriously felt like a vegetarian...with Pais I craved greasy burgers and loved any meat I could get my hands on.
3. Could only really enjoy eating fruit or a salad (what the heck? where did Kylee go?)
4. Tired X 10 (Every girl is way tired first trimester, but compared to last time...whoa)
5. Hungry X 10 (with Pais I remember having to eat every few hours to settle my stomach, this time around I swear it was like every hour I had to eat)
6. ZITS!!! In strange places I swear you shouldn't get zits... Earlobes, behind my ears and random spots on my body where I have NEVER had zits before...weird
7. I would feel okay for the most part during the day, but once 5:00 hit it was like, goodbye world! I would have to leave Jayson with Paislee to fend for themselves for dinner while I spent most of the night in bed sick until I would fall asleep. Thank heavens for a husband who was more than happy to take over mommy duty for a few months and do it with a positive and happy heart :) I love that guy!
8. ITCHY shins....what the heck again?
9. Crying during State Farm commercials and other totally ridiculous things... I remember being emotional, but not to this extent! haha
These are just a few I can think of. You would think after being pregnant once before your body would react in the same way... Which is why everyone assumed this silly little girl was a BOY! Jayson never doubted from day one that it wasn't a girl... He loves that his fatherly intuition was more on than my motherly intuition because I thought she was a boy for sure...
I didn't start showing quite as quickly this time around. Everyone told me you start to show alot sooner with your second baby, but I think I must be carrying her differently or something.. The crazy thing is, after looking at my belly pics from last time I'm smaller now than I was when I was pregnant with Paislee. You can tell by the belly pics bellow that I'm carrying her differently..
The weird thing is, some days I wake up and my belly is completely gone! It's like some days she goes into hiding somewhere or something...haha For instance, the picture above was taken Saturday. This picture was taken the following day..
I'm sure one of these days I'll pop out and stay out for good.. The great news is, the baby is measuring exactly on her due date and everything is growing normally. That is all I really care about!
I started feeling "Little Sister"(which is what we call her around the house) at 14 weeks (exact week I felt Paislee too). Surprisingly Jayson was able to feel her move by 18 weeks which was a whole two weeks earlier this time! Paislee got to feel Little Sister kick for the first time around 19-20 weeks. She puts her head onto my belly and says, "Mom! I can hear her! She is laughing!" She talks about her all of the time and how excited she is for her to "come out". haha Jayson hates that she says that instead of "be born", but hey! She's right! haha
I'm so happy to be in my second trimester, although it's still not quite as easy as it was with Paislee, I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to be pregnant. I still love every second of pregnancy (even if it isn't always blissful). I'm so thankful and know this is an incredible blessing in our lives. I just can't wait to kiss those cheeks! Half way there! Boo yeah Grandma!
