2 week check-up

Paislee had her 2 week check-up last Friday. I was so nervous because last time they had to prick her foot 5 times for her bilirubin test and STILL didn't get enough blood so we had to go to the lab at the Hospital (lets just say the medical assistants need training from the people that take blood at the lab cause they did it in one shot). I knew they were doing the PKU test Friday and that it would require another prick of the foot. I did my best not to cry on the way (I cried last time they made us go to the hospital ha ha) but Paislee was so good even though those stupid medical assistants STILL had to poke her 3 X for just a small amount of blood! GRRRR! Anywho, everything looked great and she is perfectly healthy. What a blessing that is! She weighs 8 lb 11 oz (61%) and is 20.5 inches (65%)

I love spending all of my time with Paislee. It is the greatest thing in the world. I cant even believe how much more I love her every day. Jayson is so cute with her too. I worried a little that once she came I would have a hard time not having Jayson all to myself all the time but it honestly is so much better. It's crazy how much more in love with Jayson I am. Having a baby truly does strengthen a marriage and its only been 2 weeks! I am so excited for the future and for everything that is in store for our little family!

Jayson went hunting for the weekend and when he got home and took a nap Paislee literally layed there with her face pressed up against his staring at him like this for 5 minutes straight. She wouldn't take her eyes off him or move even though her face was smashed. haha She missed him so much!

11 days old!

Well Paislee is now 11 days old today. Oh my little girl is growing up so fast! haha, This past week in half that Paislee has been home has been so much fun. I love waking up in the morning and looking over and seeing Paislee laying in her pack n' play with her eyes wide open just waiting for me to get up and hold her. She has been such a good baby! She hardly ever cries and when she does it is only because she is hungry. She is already sleeping like a champ too. She usually wakes up to eat in the night between every 3-5 hours. Last night she slept almost 5 hours before she woke up ready for her night time snack. Every night is different, some great & some not so great, but for the most part she's catching on quick! She is such a good nurser too. We FINALLY have it down, but there is room for ALOT of improvement. I thought it would be hard being a stay at home mom. I've worked for so long and I absolutely loved my job so I worried I would miss it big time. Now that Paislee is here I can't imagine having to leave her. I am so grateful I can be home all day with her and not miss a second out of her life. The days go by so fast and I already wish time would slow down since I know these newborn moments won't last too much longer. All I can say is being a mommy is the best thing in the world!

She's here!!!!

Paislee Ann

Born August 22nd @ 7:36 a.m.

8 lb 8 oz!! 20 1/2 inches

I cannot believe she is finally here! It is so nice to have our little girl home and perfectly healthy. I feel so blessed that everything went so well and that she is here safe and sound. Labor couldn't have gone any better then it did. My water broke at 10:30 pm Friday night the 21st and she was born that morning. The whole night went super well and I felt great. I dilated really quickly and didn't have to push for very long to get her out (which is surprising since she turned out being 8 lb 8 oz! ) The recovery has gone very well too. I have felt so great and basically feel back to normal completely. I really have been so blessed to have had such a great pregnancy, delivery and recovery. I love my little Paislee so much and I don't know what I would do without her!

Baby update!!

It is crazy to me that I am so close to having a baby. Basically any day now she can come. Let's just say the suspense is KILLING me! I want her here so bad. I have stopped working officially which has been so nice. I have had so much time to get things ready, SLEEP and to spend some time alone (I hear this rarely happens once you have a baby so I figured I'd take advantage of it while I still can, haha). My husband's been incredibly busy with his business this past week so I have hardly seen him but we have made sure to take time out this past week to spend time just enjoying each others company and going on dates with just the two of us. I love him so so much! I had a Dr.'s appointment yesterday and everything looked perfect! I am 2 cm dilated & 70-80% effaced. The past week I have had contractions basically none stop all day every day, just nothing painful enough to make me want to go to the hospital yet. He did an ultrasound and based off of her measurements he estimated she already weighs 7 lb. 12 oz! AH! I guess I may be having a BIG baby. I can't wait to finally meet her and hold her in my arms. Hopefully the next time I post we will have had our beautiful little girl!

Here is the final slide show of my growing belly! I couldn't get my slide show thing to work so I had to do it differently this time. Unfortunatley I missed taking pictures week 30 & 31, but other than that you can see how big my belly has grown!

Baby showers and more

The past couple of weeks has been so incredibly fun. I had three of my baby showers the first week of August. It was so fun to see all of my family and friends. Monday I had my family shower. My mom did such a great job on putting everything together. She got all the food catered from my favorite restaurant (Plates and Palates)and had everything decorated so cute. I am so sad because I forgot to take a picture of everything. I have the best mother in the world and I appreciate all of her help in helping me get everything ready for the baby. Thank you SO SO much mother dear!

That following Wednesday my wonderful mother in law and sister in laws threw me another shower. They are so creative and made everything look so cute! I took quite a few pictures of all their crafty decorations. I am so grateful I married into such a wonderful family. I truly have the best mother and sister in laws! I have so much fun hanging out with them and we all get along so perfect!

The way cute cakes they made

They made these darling balls to hang from the ceiling in my nursery that they displayed at the shower

They also made this WAY cute rocking chair to go in the nursery. Can you believe how stinkin cute??

The whole display all put together. They did such a great job!

The following Saturday (the 8th) my best friends put on another way fun shower. It was so good to get together with everyone I hadn't seen in awhile. We had so much fun catching up and hanging out together. Thanks to my amazing friends for putting together such a fun shower. I love your faces to death!

All my BF's!

Aanni and Whit showing how much they already love my baby!

Jayson and I also went to the demolition durby this past week. It was my first demolition durby and I can't believe how much fun it was. We had 4th row seats and dirt was flying everywhere. We went with our good friends Dave & Beth and Chance & Shanna. I had never been to the Weber County Fair before so it was quite the treat to go and walk around. I must say I think I enjoyed just sitting and watching all the different kinds of people all night long.

Watching the demolition durby

Funny story...Jayson caught one of those cheap Weber County Shirts that they were throwing out to the crowd that are probably worth like $2.00. He had to basically fight this really big lady for it which was a funny story in itself, but after he got the shirt and sat down this drunk guy yelled over to him and said with his toothless smile, "I'll give you $20.00 for that shirt!" So of course Jayson made the trade! It was a way ugly cheap shirt that neither of us would have worn anyways. haha I can just see that poor drunk man the next day wondering where in the world his twenty dollar bill went. haha I think we definitely came on top on that one!

Vacations, Vacations, Vacations!

Well it has been far too long since the last time I post something new on our blog. The month of July has been CRAZY busy. We have gone on some very fun camping trips this month and thankfully I have still felt great through all of them. Everyone warned me that summer would be miserable with being almost ready to pop and all, but I have had such a fun summer and for the most part have felt pretty dang good. Two weeks ago we went with Jayson's family and two other families to Bear Lake. They have an annual Bear Lake trip every year which consists of AMAZING food (they keep you pretty much stuffed the entire trip), playing at the beach, playing games, sitting around the fire and boating/jetskiing. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures the entire trip. I did take our video camera and document everything, but no pictures.... Bummer! It was way fun to spend time with Jayson's family and all of our good friends.
Vacation #2 Fish Lake 2009!!
Every year my family goes to Fish Lake. I look forward to this trip more than I do any other trips we have planned all year. Even if it's a cruise or a big trip like that. Yes, that seems hard to believe that a camping trip could get me so incredibly excited... but its true! The day before we left I went in for my 34 week appointment. The appointment went great, up until the second he said these words... "You are not allowed to go to Fish Lake" I about peed my pants when he told me this. I tried talking him into letting me go by saying things like "What if I just go for a one or two days? Instead of three or four?" or "Richfield has a clinic and is only 40 minutes away.." but no matter what I said he emphasized three or four times, "DON'T GO!!!" I left the appointment heart broken. I have always been one of those people who HAS to follow the rules and be obedient in any scenario. So the thought of going against my own Doctor's orders made me sick to think about... But then I thought to myself (and with the help of my husband talking me out of staying back) "You only live once!!" So I disobeyed my Doctor and went... Yes, I broke the rules, but it was worth it! We went and had such a fun time and I was just super careful the entire week. I just hope my Dr. doesn't find out.... haha

We would spend the entire morning fishing on the boat, eating lots of junk food and having Yahtzee tournaments.

Me waiting to catch my first fish of the trip

Jayson in his gear getting ready to go spear fishing

Preparing himself to jump into the freezing cold lake

My first fish of the trip!

In the evenings we would go fourwheeling, motorcycling and skeet shooting. Unfortunately I had to stay back from the intense motorcyle riding since that would definitely be something that would put me into labor, but I was able to join in on the skeet shooting fun.

We always try to make a trip to Capitol Reef while we are at Fish Lake. We spend the afternoon jumping into the waterfalls, floating down the skinny stream and eating milk shakes.

Jayson lost his wedding ring in this picture! It slipped off his finger cause his hands were so cold his fingers had shrunk. At least he lost it somewhere memorable!

We have had such a fun month of July. Thanks Rich and Janae for making Bear Lake so fun! Thank you mom and dad for always making Fish Lake so memorable and extremely fun every single year. We can hardly wait for next July to come!

Belly Photos/Third Trimester here I come!!!

Well it is just crazy to me that we are in the final trimester. Holy crap time has flown by so fast! I truly can't believe we are only a couple months away. It has been so fun to see my belly grow and to experience everything involved in pregnancy. I truly have been blessed thus far to have had an enjoyable pregnancy. I love reading each week on the babies new developments. I already feel such a huge bond between our little girl and I. Sometimes I just sit and talk to her as if I were holding her in my arms already (maybe thats weird, but I highly enjoy it!). I love feeling her rythmic movements when she gets the hiccups (at least once a day) and I even love when she kicks me up in my ribs, only because it makes it more of a reality that there is a little human inside of me. I love laying down and just watching my stomach and seeing her roll around and move. I feel like she is CONSTANTLY moving. Maybe that means she will be a dancer! haha anyways I look forward to these last few weeks/months I have to have my little buddy inside with me at all times. As much as I love it, I seriously can hardly wait to have my little girl here for me to hold. Oh and p.s. Jayson has been so awesome at helping me and taking care of me while being pregnant. He is so understanding of everything and has made this pregnancy a much more positive experience. He truly amazes me! Thanks honey!
