Sisters Rooms

I'm excited to announce the name we have chosen for this little gal is Jaycee! We've had it picked out for about half the pregnancy I just have never blogged about it.  I personally do not know any Jaycee's which makes me love the name even more.  She will be the first Jaycee I meet! Just like Paislee was the first Paislee I ever met :) Paislee has part of my name and my mom's name in her name.  After we decided on Jaycee we realized not only does she have part of Jayson's name (which was pretty obvious), but his mom's initials are J.C. Adam.  After that discovery, I knew our decision to name her Jaycee was meant to be! 

Paislee moved into her "big girl room" almost exactly 1 year ago and I am so glad we moved her over so early.  That way their would be no confusion of the baby taking over her room when she got here.  Paislee at first referred to both rooms as her own, but now refers to the nursery as Jaycee's room.  Having her in her new room for so long will definitely make the transition of adding a new baby easier on Paislee. 

With Jaycee's room all done and everything cleaned and put away I am definietly ready for her to get here! I will be 37 weeks tomorrow! Paislee came 10 days early and 8 lb 8 oz, so hopefully I go early again to avoid having a 10 lb baby! So excited to see this little sissy's face!

May Celebrations!

Our first celebration in the month of May was of course Mother's Day.  What an emotional day (especially for a pregnant woman).  I love having a day to reflect on the women that have made such an impact in my life.  Also, being a mother on Mother's Day just add's to all the emotions! I LOVE being a mom with all of my heart and couldn't be more thankful to my Heavenly Father for blessing me with such an amazing gift.  

 

Jayson and Paislee spoiled me rotten on Mother's Day.  I must share one gift they gave me because I am SERIOUSLY excited about it and every expectant mother or mommy with a little one NEEDS this.  It is the Adelaide nursing nightgown. The second I saw this night gown I lusted over it. haha the material is simply divine! It really is the most comfortable, light weight nightgown I have ever felt.  I know I will be living in this thing for months after this baby is born. It has nursing pad inserts and I can't imagine a more comfortable thing to wear those first weeks when you are recovering after having a baby.  Seriously AMAZING! You need one...

Our next celebration this month was Jayson and I's 4 year anniversary! What!? 4 years already!? Holy smokers that boggles my mind.  We take turns each year planning what we'll do and this year was my year to plan.  I love planning surprises for Jayson and I'm glad everything worked out so well. He managed to sneak in a surprise for me when he came home from work with these beauts...You sly dog you!

 We started the night off with a yummy dinner at one of our fav's, Rodizio Grill. Jayson was pleasently surprised!

After dinner we had some extra time to kill so we walked around Trolly Square and then had a "Yatzee off" in the car.  "Yatzee off" is what we call it when we both pull out our phones and play Yatzee.  We get seriously competitive and secretly want to punch each other when the other yells "YATZEE!!!!" Happy to say I got like 4 Yatzee's and he got 0...haha Boo yeah grandma!

 After killing a little bit of time we went and had a couples 90 minute massage at Massage Envy.  I had a girl who specializes in pre-natal massages and let me tell you... It was amazing! It is crazy how hard pregnancy can be on your body and getting to have someone massage you for 90 minutes was seriously heaven.

After the massage we went to Armstrong Mansion and stayed in the Februrary room.  My girlfriends and I lived next to the mansion our first year of college and ever since then I have been DYING to stay in this room.  It is such a cute room, with a spiral staircase that leads to a jacuzzi tub which is located right at the point of the mansion. 

The room has such cute charm to it.  It lived up to all my expectations :) The romance package added alot too! haha I couldn't help but think of Marianne (one of my bffs) who used to work there when we lived next door and would tell us about setting up these romance packages for couples :) haha good memories!

The night was perfect and we ended it by cuddling up to "We Bought a Zoo" and eating Reese's, sour patch kids and Junior mints.  The next morning we ate breakfast which was SO yummy.  Seriously, best bed and breakfast meal i've ever had at a bed and breakfast.  We then packed up and we went to City Creek for some shopping and to let Jayson see it since he had never been before.

The perfect end to our date was going to pick Paislee up at Lanny's house and spending a couple hours there swimming and enjoying the weather. 

It was so nice having Jayson all to myself for a whole day/night! I know it might be awhile till we have a little gettaway like this with just the two of us with a newborn coming so it couldn't have been more perfect timing.

I feel so blessed that I get to be married to Jayson forever.  I always fantasized growing up what my future husband would be like and all the amazing qualities he would have.  I am so lucky I found him (technically my mom and sister found him haha) because he exceeds everything I ever hoped for in a partner and marriage.   I feel so blessed to have such a great marriage and to have had a great marriage the last four years.  While at dinner we couldn't help but talk about how we know our marriage is as good as it is because of the gospel and being members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Having the gospel principals as the main focus in our family and relationship I know without a doubt in my mind is why we are so happily married.  I've heard from many how hard marriage is, but honestly marriage for us has been easy and I know it is because of those principals of the gospel and the covenants we made when we were sealed forever in the Salt Lake Temple May 15, 2008.

Jayson is perfect for me and I am perfect for him. Match made in heaven!



Paiser Pie

This goof mongoose has sure grown up alot! She talks so much and I'm always still amazed at how clear and great her sentances are.  She says the most hilarious things.  A few months ago she struggled big time with the word "Frog", it seriously sounded like she was saying the "F" word every time she said it.  Believe me, my little brother Ty (who is 13) took full advantage of this and has taught her sentences that no mom wants their daughter saying.  Stuff like, "Stop it Tess you "F"ing dog!" HORRIBLE!!!!! She of course thought she was saying "Stop it Tess you frogging dog"... And of course, Ty laughs hysterically at her so she thinks it's a really funny thing to say...Ty has gotten into some serious trouble encouraging my innocent child to say such horrible things.  I just pray every day she doesn't try to be funny in nursery and repeat any of the stuff uncle T teaches her...Luckily the F bomb drops have slowly faded away in her vocabulary.

She LOVES to dance! I turn on Dance Central 2 and that could entertain her for hours.  We seriously play it at least two times every day.  Her favorite songs to dance to right now are "You're a jerk", "Like a G6" and "Club can't handle me".  Haha totally inappropriate for a 2 1/2 year old right? We need to find a kid's dancing game one of these days.  She follow's the dance moves on the game and we can't help but laugh at how she interprets some of them.  Oh boy I can't wait to sign her up for dance classes!

Thankfully Paislee still takes a nap every single day.  Her naps usually range from 2-3 hours too! This is the biggest blessing in my life! Having those extra hours to relax and take naps myself has really helped this battered pregnant body! haha Lately she has been sleeping till 8-9 which has also been AMAZING! I hope she keeps this up when the baby comes....

Loving putting make-up on these days!

 I am constantly amazed with the things she says and does. She really is SO sweet and tender hearted. I was folding a huge pile of laundry the other day, feeling kind of overwhelmed, when she came over, put her arm on my back and said, "Mom, thanks alot for doing this for me." Really? What 2 1/2 year old thanks their mom for folding their laundry?? The other day, when saying the prayer she said this, "Heavenly Father, thank you for this day, thank you for dad being blessed, thank you for mommy being a princess, we love Jesus, in the name of Jesus Christ amen!" Sweetest prayer I have ever heard. I couldn't be more proud of her and the good choices and things she does and says every single day.

I wasn't feeling very good the other day and was standing in the kitchen and had to hurry and lay down on the floor (I felt like I was going to pass out). As soon as I layed down she was so concerned and ran straight to her room and brought me back her pillow, which she put underneath my head and covered my belly with her blanket and said, "Mom, are you feeling okay?" She truly cares for the people around her and is so concerned when someone else is sad, hurt or feeling bad.

This was the video we sent to my Mom on her birthday while she was in Ireland. Don't mind we are still in bed and looking quite LOVELY.


We love taking Paislee to new fun places.  Seeing the excitment in her face when she's experiencing something for the first time is priceless.  It is amazing how much information these little kid's brains absorb when learning and doing new things.  The little details and things she remembers from our little outings always amaze me!

Paislee can't wait to be a big sister! She talks about it every day.  When she see's people one of the first things she likes to tell them is, "I am going to have a sister!".  Looking back I am so grateful that we had this extra time with Paislee to grow and become the little girl that she is.  She LOVES helping me with anything and everything which will make adding a little one to the mix alot easier.  She has become very independent and I am grateful she has kept her sweet, content, laid back personality even through these so called "terrible twos". 

I am so thankful to have this little goose in my life.  Seeing how excited she is every day when she gets to feel the baby move and listening to her talk about how she can't wait to play with and hold her little sister makes me even more excited about having another little gal apart of our family.  Paislee seriously will be the best big sister!

Kylee Update

It is crazy how much can change in just a couple of months. I think the most drastic change for me is obviously a physical change.  My last belly picture at 21 weeks is ridiculous! I feel like I have gotten HUGE over the last few months.  Like I've said before, this pregnancy has been SOOOO different than my pregnancy with Paislee.  In the second and third trimester these are a few things I've experienced that I NEVER experienced with Pais:

1. Pelvic pain, I noticed at around 23 weeks my groin area would KILL when I would walk.  I was still hardly showing but apparently after your first child babies sit lower or something (thats what the doc said).  At my 24 week ultrasound I literally had to pull my pants completely down for the tech to see her whole body.  I couldn't help but giggle, the poor tech had to literally put the ultrasound on my crotch! haha Now this might be TMI but I don't even care... For months I seriously felt like she was going to kick out of my "you know what".  I felt hardly any kicks in my stomach and felt everything down south...haha Luckily as she's grown she's shifted so her legs aren't down there anymore and I feel the kicks in my belly thank heavens!  Jayson got pretty used to me out of no where gasping or letting out a light scream because out of no where I'd get a kick to the crotch that would literally take my breath away!

2. With Paislee I got one of those lines below my belly button.  For whatever reason, I don't have that line this time around.

3. Acid reflux, or heart burn, not quite sure which one it is.  I've never had it before, but at night time when I'm laying down I get "burpy" haha I feel more like it's acid reflux but I have no clue...

4. Back pain! BUT, this back pain is super low, more like in my upper right butt cheek.  haha it's hard to explain but I looked online and I'm almost positive I have "posterior pelvic pain".  It is a very lovely feeling, let me tell you what!

5. Pigment spots on my face.  I've heard about this, but had no idea what that meant.  I have two spots (thankfully small) that I thought were just little patches of dead skin from getting sunburned, but no matter how hard I scrub they wont go away.  So weird!

And everything else is basically the exact same as when I was preggers with Pais.  It is just weird to me how my body can react so differently to pregnancy this time around.  Now I know what people mean when they say, "no two pregnancies are ever the same!" I thought for sure I'd get stretch marks this time, but thankfully that is one of the side effects of pregnancy I have managed to avoid yet again.

I was so good at doing belly photos with Paislee, but this time around I've taken only a couple the entire time.  Here are the last couple of weeks.  The first one is this pregnancy, second one my pregnancy with Pais.

Another big change in my life is I decided to stop working once a week.  I actually made this decision back in January so it has been a long time since I stopped working I just have failed to blog about it.  I still do the dictations (medical transcripts) from home only a few hours a week which is perfect.  It keeps me in contact with all the great people I got to work with.  I'm still happy to sub for girls when they need me, but not having the committment of going in once a week has been so great!

Paislee started saying on the days I would leave for work, "Mom, don't go to work. Stay with me."  I started thinking, why would I go to work and leave Paislee if I don't have to? I guess for selfish reasons like wanting to have a day to myself to do something I love, but I noticed the night before work I was always saying to Jayson, "I don't want to go to work tomorrow!" (not because I didn't love it, but because of the long drive and time away from Paislee).  So finally he said, "Well, you don't HAVE to go to work so how about you stop then?" Oh.....that would make sense.... So I put in my two weeks shortly after. 

Having that one extra day with Paislee means the world to me.  She is my little buddy and now the thought of having to work and leave her for a full day every week makes me sad to think about.  We're BFF's! Every day I am so grateful I get to have the "job" of being a stay at home mom.  It truly is the greatest gift and I'm thankful for a hardworking husband who allows me to do the one thing I've dreamed my whole life of doing, being a mom!

Okay, 2 down, 1 to go! Next is an update on Pais.  I have to pace myself with this blogging thing.  Also, I will be posting nursery picture's soon which is when you'll get to see what this little sissy's name is going to be.  Can't wait!!!!

Changes...

Over the last few months our family has gone through a ton of changes.  Good changes thankfully! Turns out I have so much to say about each person in our little family that I have decided to split them into three separate posts.  That way I can journal all the stuff I need too without feeling bad that my post is SUPER long. 

This first post is dedicated to the changes going on in Mr. Adam's life....

This man has been a busy busy man the last couple of months. Usually this time of the year Jayson is juggling selling real estate, doing taxes at his dad's office and getting things ready for the new season with his asphalt business. Oh how different this year has been!

For those of you who don't know, Jayson owns an asphalt business called Precision Asphalt Maintenance.  You can click HERE if you wanna see what they do. This business has been such a huge blessing in our lives.  They have been in business 5 years and each year they have at least doubled or tripled, which is crazy since the economy the last few years has been so horrible. They have put in so much hard work the last five summers and have prayerfully made smart decisions. It has been amazing to see how this business has blessed the lives of not only the owner's families, but all of the employee's as well. 

Those first couple summers were really rough and hard having my husband gone from 6 in the morning till 10 at night laboring in the hot sun.  The floors in my shower all summer long were sick NASTY and covered in black which I HATED scrubbing.  Slowly but surely they were able to hire employee's to do the labor which allowed them to spend more time finding jobs.  And now they have made it to the point where they have salesman to do that portion as well so they can focus on managing and getting even bigger jobs. 

They have been so busy this year that Jayson quit selling real estate and no longer does taxes for his dad.  It sure has been nice not having him juggle a million things at once, but boy have they been busy with their business!

Jayson recently "got one step closer to manhood" as he would call it.  Since we purchased our last car, Ruby (click HERE if you forgot who Ruby is)  Jayson got stuck driving my car NIIIIICE (for those of you who don't know, that is what the license plate said).  Poor Jayson got some pretty strange looks pulling up to meet with property managers and business owners in this beauty....

So, it was time to say goodbye! Thanks to the success of the business he was able to upgrade...

 

I wasn't a huge fan of putting the HUGE logo on the truck after we got it, but I have actually grown to really love it.  As sad as I was to see my sweet sweet Corolla go after all these years, it was a sacrifice I was willing to make!

Another BIG change in Jayson's life is that he is starting a new business.  With his two best friends he currently owns the asphalt business with, Dave and Aaron.

It is actually an asphalt manufacturing business which deals with the production of asphalt material.  I won't go into any details about it, but the last couple of months they have spent a ton of time getting stuff ready to rock and roll with that.  Here in the next couple of weeks they will have an asphalt plant built just in time for the asphalt season to begin!  The start up of a new business is always nerve racking, but I know without a doubt in my mind these three will grow this business just as successfully as they have Precision Asphalt Maintenance.

Another new change in Jayson's life is that he was recently called to the Young Men's Presidency.  This is a perfect calling for him.  He does so well with the youth and absolutely loves getting to work with them.  Although this means less time with him on Sunday's because of his meetings, I am grateful to have such a good example of service in my life.  Plus, he needs something like mutual during the week to let him get some of his inner child out!

Aren't you so happy I decided to split up this post? Sorry for how long this is, but this is literally the only "journaling" type thing I do which I know is horrible! The next post to come will be about me and my ever growing baby belly.  We have a name chosen! So maybe, just maybe, if you're lucky, I will tell you :) 



Yay for Easter!

What a fun Easter this year!  We had such an eventful week full of tons of fun friends and family time.

We took the kiddo's to the treehouse to see Peter Rabbit, read some Easter stories and do some fun Easter crafts.. Then enjoyed all the fun family parties and Easter egg hunts!

We couldn't believe how intense and excited Paislee was Easter morning.  She was SOOO excited and being so funny.  Turns out she likes the Easter bunny more than Santa... Who needs presents when the Easter bunny brings eggs filled with TREATS!

We decided at Christmas time we wanted to get Pais a swingset, but who wants a swingset in the winter time? So, we decided to wait and give it to her on Easter from the easter bunny.  Jayson spent an entire week putting this thing together (over 15 hours!) AND he had at least one other guy almost every day here helping him (so we are talking like 30 man hours!) Every place I called charged at least $500 dollars to install it.  SERIOUSLY!?!?!? It's a swing set people... It was such a pain, but we couldn't be happier to have it done! Paislee was SO excited to see it Easter morning.

I think I'm the most excited about it because now I can send Paislee out back to play any time.  It will make this summer with a new born fabulous!

I'm so thankful we have a holiday where we can focus on our Savior and spend time with our families.  There is no greater knowledge than to know that because of him and the sacrifice he made for us that we get to be with our families forever.  What an incredible gift and how blessed we are! What an amazing example Christ is and I know I am so fortuante to have that knowledge and I know I am a happier person every day because of it!
