Sun, Sissy & St. Thomas!

Where to begin where to begin....My trip to St. Thomas was simply AMAZING.  For those of you who don't know where St. Thomas is it is in the Virgin Islands in the Caribbean.  It is small and beautiful! The prettiest place I have ever vacationed in my life! Well, to start off, my mom and I flew there to spend the week for my sister's birthday.  Hillary is living there (lucky huh!?) while she does an internship with Del Sol.  She is there for 5 months! So, we figured why not take advantage of her living there and go see her.  I was so surprised and almost in tears when my cute husband surprised me with the ticket to accompany my mom on this little adventure! Talk about the greatest girls trip ever! WARNING: The majority of this trip was spent in the sun with my mom and sister so I left the tankini's at home...So, forgive me for all the bikini shots! I still think modeset is the hottest....

We flew in Wednesday and got there at like 9:00 where we quickly got settled in at Hillary's cute house where she lives with 3 other girls.  We had our own bed to ourselves and everything! The following day was Hill's big 20 birthday so we spent the day doing this...
Taking a car ferry from St. Thomas island to St. John island where they have the most amazing beaches in the world. I kept laughing at the thought of us sitting in a car on a boat..haha

I had no idea when I posted this picture before we left that we would actually be going to this exact beach.  This is Trunk Bay, on the island of St. John. I have never seen such blue crystal clear water in my life.  The sand seriously felt like you were walking on flour.  Best beach experience ever!

haha, I just thought this was too funny not to post

Gotta sip a pina when you're on a beach like this!

They had the best snorkling because the water was so clear!

After our fun day at the beach we got cleaned up and went out for Hill's birthday dinner!
This is the view from their patio!

We ate at a cute place called Mim's that was a seafood place right on the beach.  Yum yum!

The following day we woke up and went sailing! Now when I say sailing I mean SAILING! We had all thought we had been sailing before, 10 minutes into our trip it was apparent we had never been sailing like this before...I was almost in tears when we first started because I didn't realize that when they turn the motor off and put the sails up that the boat would tip from the wind as much as it did.  I figured it would tip a little bit, but NO, we are talking the boat would go from flat on the water to the boat tipped so far that the railing would be submerged in the water! I was screaming for my life when we first started to sail cause I thought we were going to flip.  I guess the captain didn't realize we didn't fully understand what sailing really meant.... They ran up to the front of the boat where the 3 of us girls were holding on for dear life and screaming. haha it was SO scary.  I was scared the whole first half that we were going to tip over, but they kept reassuring us we would be fine and that no one has ever fallen in (I seriously think they were lying...).

The captain mentioned on numerous times that I needed to drink a beer to relax...haha it really was a blast once I got used to it (by used to it I mean used to going from a sitting position to standing position without even moving cause the boat would literally go from horizontal to vertical in a matter of seconds) Here is our beauty.... The Morning Star!

They took us to a spot off of St. John's for some snorkling

Here is Hill calling in the troops for lunch!
They made an amazing lunch for us on this cute table they set up on the boat. It was fine cuisine! We expected paper plates with a sandwich and chips...Nope! It was really fancy and REALLY yummy!

Here we are with our captain and his matey!

We really couldn't have asked for a better Captain and Matey.  Mike and Josh were seriously awesome.  We were laughing hysterically the entire time and they were such gentleman with us women.

I seriously felt like they were our BFF's by the end of the day

After our day at sea we came home, went to dinner then at 11:00, yes you heard me 11:00, my bedtime, we went out dancing at a club on the beach called Fat Turtles.  Let's just say I felt like I was in high school again dancing with all these single ladies! My mom even came dancing with us! haha we were out till 1:30 getting our groove on it was so fun.

The following day we spent shopping on the cute streets of St. Thomas!

This is where Hillary works! It was fun to get to see where she spends alot of her time and what she does.
We got THE BEST pina colada's I have ever had at this little place near the water front. Simply DIVINE

We ended with some laying out at Emerald Beach

Sunday we went to church. It was a small room with maybe 20-30 people.  It is amazing how regardless of where you are, how many people are there and how big of a room you have the spirit is just as strong.  Going to church here strengthed my testimony of how exact and precise The Church of Jesus Christ is in it's organization. It literally is just as consistent in a room full of 20 as it is in a chapel full of hundreds.  It was such a good experience.

We spent the rest of the day soaking in the ray's at Marriott Beach and ended the evening visiting Petersborg (the furthest tip of St. Thomas)

I have my wonderful Mom to thank for making our trip such a good time.  She always likes to eat at the best of the best places and fill the vacation with the funnest things.  Thanks so much for letting me come with you and for spoiling me while we were there.  I appreciate you more than you know!

And Hill, thanks for letting Mom and I come and crash in your room while we visited! I had so much fun and have seriously the best memories from my visit! Sorry if mom and I got annoying....haha

And Jayson, thank you for allowing me to do this. I know this was a sacrifice for you.  You were the Mom and the Dad all week and you did it perfectly! Thanks for spoiling your wifey :) I love your bum!

Airports on love day

Valentines Day this year was not your typical V-day...I spent the good ol day waking up at 7 and making the long journey home from St. Thomas.  My mommy this year was my valentine...haha we spent a long day of layovers and managed to have ourselves a romantic dinner in the Dallas airport at Chili's too.  I was anxious all day to get home to see my sweeties!

My sweet husband this year bought me a plane ticket to visit my sissy in St. Thomas.  Quite a grand present eh? But oh he knows just how to make things grander! I didn't make it home till 10:00 Valentines night (1:00 St. Thomas time)! I walked into a spotless house with roses on the table and a v-day balloon he had gotten Paislee.  He then went on to tell me he had a series of no cost gifts for me.  I had told him not to get me anything because the trip was way more than I could have asked for.  But, of course he still found more ways to make my Valentines even better.  He took me down stairs to our storage room (which is a disaster to say the least!) I walked down stairs to a room I didn't even recognize! He had organized and cleaned the entire thing! Next, he took me around the house and showed me how he had installed these special fire detector's we bought a couple years ago that I had been bugging him since we moved into our new house to install! THEN, he had taken both of our cars and completely cleaned them cleaner than ever!

What more could a girl ask for? A week in St. Thomas with the sun and no worries, a husband back at home being Mr. Mom and taking amazing care of Paislee and coming home to a house that was still standing....In fact, standing FAR better than I had left it before.  Gosh I really lucked out with this guy!  Thanks so much for making this Valentines Day so special for me Jayson! You really spoil me and I do not deserve a man as great as you! Thanks for being an amazing husband and father to Paislee! I love you so so much!

BTW, I took Jayson out for Valentines day the following day.  Details on that date to come :)
BTWA (by the way again), tons of pictures from my trip to follow this post!

It's hard to believe....

....that in exactly 24 hours from now I will be here....
Thanks to an amazing husband who surprised me a couple weeks ago with a plane ticket for V-day to the caribbean island of St. Thomas! Probably the best Valentines gift a girl could ask for.

Let's just hope this pasty bod can absorb a few rays while I'm gone...

Gosh I like her..

With it being winter and all I have found myself searching for things to do to keep my little toddler busy and occupied. It is hard when it is so cold and all outdoor activities are out the window...So, what is a mama to do to occupy an energetic almost 18 month old? Believe me, we get pretty dang creative around this household... For instance, Pudding art!

Here is Paislee stirring the pudding.  I love taking the small and simple things I do daily and making a lesson out of it for Paislee.  Paislee thought this lesson was REALLY fun!

We spent a good hour making designs and eating the pudding.  Here is proof of my daughter's geniousness...ok maybe with a little help from mom...

The aftermath... Hair and all

Here are just a few other fun pictures from the past month of my little stink

Going poo poo in the big girl potty! She has been acting very interested in it lately so we bought her her own potty and let her go whenever she wants.  We aren't actively training her or anything, but surprisingly she is already acting like she is ready...
Sporting her first pony!
Gosh I like her!

Stuffing crayons down her pj's...The funny thing is I thought I got them all out before I put her to sleep.. Changing her diaper the next morning...Out falls a crayon! That couldn't have been comfortable....

I can't believe she is almost 18 months old!  Being a Mommy is seriously the most rewarding thing in the world.  Paislee is talking so much and becoming more grown up every day. Now my little Paislee isn't just my daughter...she's my bud!
